Philip Xander is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and singer-songwriter based in the Netherlands. His style has deep roots in worldwide traditions of folk music, but finds itself filtered through a contemporary and eclectic lens.

Without a doubt, the acoustic guitar is Philip Xander's primary instrument. He moves effortlessly from complex fingerstyle compositions and bluegrass-inspired flatpicking to psychedelic ballads and backbeat-heavy blues. He's as much in love with the pure, natural sound of the guitar as he is with messing it up with effect pedals, and will likewise play you a romantic Irish folktune just as easily as a rough-around-the-edges rocksong of sex and drugs.
